The American Numismatic Associaton’s Edward C Rochette Money Museum is Americas largest museum of its kind. It is dedicated to numismatics, explores culture, art, history and science through the prism of money.

Located in Colorado Springs, the museum features rare and spectacular coins, paper money, medals and other objects.

The multimedia Bass Gallery houses the Harry W. Bass Collection, perhaps the most spectacular collection of American gold coins anywhere in the world.

The museum’s main and lower level galleries showcase rotating exhibits designed to appeal to a wide variety of interests. The history of money displays the many different forms, shapes and uses money has taken in the past 10,000 years. Highlights include the oldest surviving example of paper money and the first coins from ancient Lydia. The gallery’s working mint shows visitors how coins were made from 16th to 19th centuries.

Other exhibits include “A House Divided: Money of the Civil War” and the always popular “Kids Zone”.  For more information call 719-632-2646 or visit money.org.money museum in colorado springskids explore the money museum in Colorado SPrings
