Colorado Springs New Year’s Events

Colorado Springs has plenty of events to celebrate the New Year. People tend to have a wide range of preferences for how they like to ring in the New Year, and thankfully, Colorado Springs has something for everyone. There are events for families earlier in the day, options to get dressed up and dance into the night, or even opportunities to be active on New Year’s Day. 1. SUPER BUBBLE WITH JIM JACKSON, Millibo Art Theatre (MAT), Dec 31: 11am, 2pm, 3pm

Let the kids celebrate the New Year without losing sleep! The MAT’s children’s show features clown, Jim Jackson, and includes tons of fun and silliness for the kiddos in your life. Details and tickets >> Millibo Art Theatre

2. NOON YEAR’S EVE, Colorado Springs Event Center, Dec 31: 10am

Another great event for kiddos to celebrate the New Year. This is the Pikes Peak Children’s Museum’s biggest fundraiser and is sure to be a morning of fun from 10am-2pm. Activities include face painting, music and dancing, photo booths, and a countdown at noon with a balloon drop. Tickets are $25 per family ahead of time or $35 at the door. 3. NEW YEAR’S EVE (& GIN) THE PROHIBITION WAY, Brooklyn’s on Boulder, Dec 31: 9:30pm

Have you been to Brookyln’s on Boulder? It’s Colorado Springs’ very own speakeasy and they will be celebrating New Year’s in style. Avoid the crowds, waiting in lines, and the typical hassle of the holiday by securing your ticket now for this exclusive event. 1920’s attire encouraged. Tickets range from $50-450. 4. RED SOLO CUP KEGGER, Oskar Blues, Dec 31: 6pm

5. 5 COURSE NEW YEAR’S DINNER, TAPAteria, Dec 31: 5pm, 7pm or 9pm

If a low-key setting is more your style, the 5 course dinner at TAPAteria is an excellent choice. Seatings are available at 5, 7 and 9. $65 per person. Check website for menu and reservations >> TAPAteria

6. ADAMAN FIREWORKS, Dec 31: 9pm & 12:00am

This exclusive club hikes up Pikes Peak each year to set off fireworks at midnight on New Year’s Eve. You can also see 5 test shells at 9pm in honor of their 5 founding members. If low key is your New Year’s Style, it’s always fun to stay home in PJ’s with family or friends, order takeout, play some board games, and then watch the fireworks from your porch. 7. NEW YEAR’S GALA, Glen Eyrie, Dec 31: 5pm

It wouldn’t be a list of Colorado Springs New Year’s events without mentioning the annual Glen Eyrie New Year’s Gala. Tickets include live music, dancing, and dinner. This might be your event if you prefer to turn in early–the Glen Eyrie Gala ends at 10:00pm. Details and tickets >> Glen Eyrie

8. PHILHARMONIC NEW YEAR’S PERFORMANCE, Pikes Peak Performing Arts Center, Dec 31: 7:30pm

Thomas Wilson will be conducting the Philharmonic’s annual New Year’s concert in the big band style. Tickets and info >> Colorado Springs Philharmonic

9. NEW YEAR’S EVE BASH, The Broadmoor, Dec 31: 8pm

The Broadmoor is branching out this year and offering a more casual, high energy event for those who are looking to dance the night away to live music. Tickets include one drink coupon, small plates, tapa-style buffet, and a champagne toast at midnight. For more details and tickets >> Broadmoor

10. RESCUE RUN, Palmer Park, Jan 1: 10am

Start the New Year off right with this race held in Palmer Park. The 10am start time gives you the option to ring in the New Year and get your beauty sleep. 5k and 10k options are available, and all proceeds benefit El Paso County Search and Rescue (EPSCAR). Race details >> Rescue Run

11. FIRST DAY HIKE, Cheyenne Mountain State Park, Jan 1: 10am

Opt outside on your first day of the New Year with CMSP’s First Day hike. There are options for 1, 3, or 5 mile hikes. All hikes start at the same time but on different trails. Event details>> First Day Hike
